UPDATE 8/28/10: Engadget has scrounged up a copy of the video, which you can check out here.
Well, it seems that all the bad press received from ‘Lonely TV’ part 3 has caused Logitech to delete the ad from their YouTube channel all together. Once the video began circulating the blog circuit, dozens of articles and countless tweets began springing up, most of which carried a very negative critique of the ad.
For those of you who missed it, the spot featured a tweenage girl video chatting with her friend, only to be ambushed by the family’s attention seeking TV, complete with human legs and a giant eyeball in desperate need of some Visine. A screaming match ensued, and then the TV takes off running down the hall, back to the twisted nether from which it came.
The move is certainly not all that surprising, and definitely makes a case for the power of online opinions. We are working hard to track down a copy of the spot, but unless someone happened to rip the original YouTube video, this one may have to live on in our memories… or rather, our nightmares.
In a rather interesting move, Logitech has released part 4 of their ‘Lonely TV’ ad campaign, just a few short hours after part 3 made the rounds. Part four’s predecessor received some mixed press, so perhaps they decided to put that out of everyone’s minds sooner rather than later. This one is much less unsettling than the last, but we’ll leave it up to you to decide. Check out the video posted above to see for yourselves.

UPDATE 8/27/10: Logitech has pulled the ad from their YouTube channel. Read more.
Logitech has released part 3 of their ‘Lonely TV’ ad campaign in the form of another 30 second spot, featuring everyone’s favorite TV with legs and various human facial features on the screen. I am still not entirely sure what to think of these ads yet, but they might be starting to grow on me, at least a little bit. Check it out above and decide for yourself. Continue reading »

It seems like only yesterday that Google TV was officially announced back in May at I/O, and that a new chapter in the saga that is television was upon us. Well, here we are three months later, and that mystical, dreamy-eyed view once held by many has been replaced with a skepticism that is being felt not only by consumers, but by those in the media and entertainment industry as well.
On paper, Google TV is a great idea. The ability to be able to search for what you want to watch across content stored on your network connected devices, as well as the seemingly infinite library available online, should be enticing to just about everyone. As we draw closer to the actual release, however, Google’s plan is becoming more ambitious than it is practical, and many are starting to wonder if they can actually deliver.
If Google TV is to be truly successful, a few things are going to need to happen that, at least at the time of writing this article, are currently absent. Obviously, there are more than five factors that need to be considered, but these are among the most pressing issues being discussed as of late. So, without further ado, continue reading below for five things Google TV needs in order to be successful:

Logitech has released part 2 of its Lonely TV ad campaign, and I must say, this one is a bit strange. Perhaps it’s the giant eyeball creepily looking at the family and striving for attention, but I just get the feeling this isn’t going to connect with people. Anyway,it’s been a while since the first one was released, so in case you forgot or haven’t seen it yet, check out the first one below. Also, be sure to leave your comments and let us know what you think of the latest ad.

Logitech is certainly keeping themselves busy these days. We are still fresh off the announcement of the “Host with the Most” campaign, and today the Google TV partner has released part 1 of its new “Lonely TV” ad campaign. We’re not entirely sure what the ad means, but it will likely begin to make more sense as more ads are released. Also, a new link is contained at the end of the clip, RevueIsComing.com, which presently redirects to the already established Google TV page on the official Logitech website. Surely a dedicated website is in the works for this new domain, but for now take a look at the new ad below, and check out the official blog post here.
