Digg founder Kevin Rose has posted on his blog that Apple’s new iTV platform may be launching as early as September, and is expected to be priced at around $99. We’ve been hearing about this for a while, but the fact this is coming from Rose could be an indication that this is happening sooner rather than later. Rose also stated that iAds would be a key element, allowing major networks to monetize from streaming their content. This is all speculation at this point, and until Apple makes an official announcement, this is going to stay in the rumor category. However, it seems pretty clear at this point that iTV is coming, and if Kevin Rose is correct, it will be in direct competition with Google TV this fall.
