Update: The Co-Star seems to be available once again. For how long we’re not sure, so if you want to order one you may want to do so quickly.
After less than 24 hours of being available once again, the Vizio Co-Star appears to be sold out. Yesterday we discovered that the Co-Star was available to order after a lengthy sold out period with an estimated ship date of September 17th. Vizio officially confirmed the new availability of the Co-Star earlier this morning via their Twitter account, but now the order page is displaying the out of stock message that customers have been seeing for over a month.
We’re not sure if this is another technical error like the one they were experiencing yesterday, or if the demand is simply too high. We’ll keep a close eye on this today and update you if the Co-Star becomes available again.

Over a month after the initial round of pre-sale orders sold out, the Vizio Co-Star Google TV player is now available for what appears to be general orders… kind of. The “currently sold out” label that has been removed and is now listed as in stock and available to add to the cart. The only problem is, nothing happens when you add it to the cart.
If you click on the cart button after supposedly adding the Co-Star, you are sent to a page that informs you that the item you have added to your cart is out of stock. Is this all simply an error with Vizio’s website? Or is the Co-Star actually in stock and they are simply in the process of updating the site to once again accept orders?
No announcement has been made by Vizio on their Twitter or Google + pages, but we’ll be keeping a close eye on all of this and update you as soon as more information becomes available. Also, if you are able to successfully order a Co-Star please leave us a comment and let us know!
The first Vizio Co-Star pre-orders began shipping last week, and units are starting to arrive in people’s hands. The Co-Star is still listed as “sold out” on the pre-order page, which raises questions about the number of units that were produced for this first set of orders.
Remember last week when we told you that Vizio had sold out of the initial pre-order stock of their Co-Star Google TV box in less than 12 hours? Well, it seems that they have re-upped their inventory and the Co-Star is once again available for pre-order for $99.
The Co-Star features 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and 10/100 Mbps Ethernet connectivity, Bluetooth, DNLA support, 3D support, HDMI in and out, and one Bluetooth 2.0 port. If you would like to pre-order, you can do so here.
Vizio’s new Co-Star Google TV box, which became available for pre-sale on Wednesday for $99, sold out of its initial stock in less than 12 hours. Vizio stated via their Google + page that pre-0rders are once again available, but as of writing this post the website still says they are out of stock.

Earlier today, Vizio announced via their blog that their new Co-Star Google TV box is now available for pre-order for $99. Some specs include 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and 10/100 Mbps Ethernet connectivity, Bluetooth, DNLA support, 3D support, HDMI in and out, and one Bluetooth 2.0 port.
The product page also states that you can “Play the latest hit console video games through OnLive”, a statement which is confirmed by On-Live via their blog. From their own post earlier today:
OnLive is integrated into the VIZIO Co-Star Stream Player and will also be pre-installed on the LG Smart TV with Google TV (G2 Series) via a future software update. For other Google TV devices, an OnLive app is on its way to Google Play, making console-quality top-tier gaming a standard capability for any Google TV device.
You may remember last week’s story about Sony’s Google TV device possibly dropping On-Live support. Perhaps Sony will have second thoughts now that one or more competing devices will be On-Live ready.
