Back in August, we told you that a partnership between Google TV and ARM would make a lot of sense for both companies. Well, it now seems that the two companies are in talks with one another, according to ARM president Tudor Brown. Speaking at a technology conference, he noted that while his company is currently discussing a possible partnership (perhaps for Google TV’s venture overseas), there is nothing to announce at this time.
An ARM powered Google TV device could be less expensive than the ones currently offered by Sony and Logitech, which may help spur consumer interest. Obviously nothing is set in stone at this point, but we will be sure to keep our eye on this one, as it could have some major implications with the Google TV platform moving forward.
