Some lucky devil over at Digital Trends got their hands on a Logitech Revue test unit the other day, and have posted a few pictures and a short video of their experience so far. Physically, the unit looks the same as it did when it was taken apart at the FCC back in July. In terms of functionality, again, it’s the same Google TV we’ve grown to love from the various demo videos that have been cropping up.
One nice thing about this review, is that it dispels the previous rumor that only Dish Google TV customers will be able to search content stored on their existing set-top-box. We didn’t think there was much weight behind these rumors, but it’s nice to be able to put that one to bed once and for all.
Another excellent aspect of this unboxing is the keyboard, which looks very different from the one seen in the USA Today video we featured the other day. We were a little surprised at first to see a full on keyboard, but the more we think about it, the more it makes a lot of sense. With a full blown keyboard, tasks like searching for content, and posting on Facebook, will be a breeze. The trackpad is also an excellent touch, and should make navigating very simple as well.
All in all, the Revue is looking very promising. We’re looking forward to seeing more hands-on footage in the coming weeks, and hopefully getting our hands on one for a thorough Revue. Get it? Revue? Check out the photo gallery below, as well as the embedded video.
